All current and forecast weather data comes from Open-Meteo, used under its CC BY 4.0 license and free, non-commercial tier.

Outfit categories are based on feels-like (apparent) temperature bands. No single authoritative source defines clothing-by-temperature bands, so these cutoffs (Scorching 90°F+, Warm 70-89°F, Mild 48-69°F, Cold 33-47°F, Freezing 32°F and below) are a Developer design choice.
Sunscreen and hat reminders follow the EPA UV Index Scale (UV 3 and above).
The hydration reminder follows NWS heat index guidance (feels-like 80°F and above).
Cold-weather layering is informed by NWS wind chill guidance.
The footwear rule (open-toe only in warm, dry, low-wind conditions) and the rain/poncho thresholds are a Developer design choice.

Device location is requested only when you tap "Use my location" - never automatically.
Only your most recent location (name and coordinates) is stored on this device, in your browser's local storage. Checklist ticks, the pause-animation and day/night settings, and outfit/wording history are never stored.
This app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking of any kind.
Using this app sends your coordinates or place name to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast. The site host, GitHub Pages, receives the same ordinary request data (such as your IP address) that any web host receives.

The otter character, the backpack icon, and the poncho/hat/sunscreen reminder icons were generated with Google Gemini.
The otter's clothing and accessory layers (shirts, bottoms, jackets, footwear, scarf, hats, poncho, and umbrella) were drawn as SVG graphics by Claude, an AI assistant from Anthropic, and fitted to the Gemini otter.
Weather icons are from Meteocons (MIT License).
Navigation icons and the umbrella/hydration reminder icons are from Lucide (ISC License).
